Las Islas Filipinas is a medium for photographers to exhibit their craft correlated to the Philippines, that despite the innate disunity of the archipelago, here is a movement to fuse what we call home. Through documentary and art photography, we can present the current issues and celebrate the intimate stories of individuals. The language and faces of our people may have changed, but this serves as a concrete memento of our national identity.
It is meant to break away from the superficial credo of today's media culture and art through creating a higher standard of work that we should strive for, and which this country desperately needs.
Photography with context, meaning, and purpose is Las Islas Filipinas.
